Kevin Huerter and the Atlanta Hawks agreed to a four-year, $65-million extension on Monday. Both sides got the deal done before the 6 p.m. deadline for players entering the fourth year of their rookie contracts.
Huerter joins Trae Young, John Collins & Clint Capela, as the fourth Hawk, to reach an agreement for a contract extension this offseason.
“K-Von,” as he is known by locals, was a steady presence for the Hawks coming off the bench and even starting some games for stretches. He averaged 11.9 ppg, on 43% shooting, and chipped in 3.3 rpg, along with 2.9 apg in 2021.
Huerter played excellent during the Hawk’s postseason run, with the crown jewel being a 27-point performance in a deciding Game 7 victory on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers. He now becomes a solidified cog for this young Hawks core. Huerter will look to build off his postseason success and hit the ground running in 2021-22.
