1 thought on “Hawks Land Spurs’ Murray in Blockbuster Trade

  1. The Hawks do not have to make another “huge” deal; but their are still seven roster spots at play. Some unfinished items still to firm up.

    > Delon Wright (resign w/ Bird rights)
    > Skylar Mays (minimum RFA)
    > Sharife Cooper (GL RFA)
    > Knox (unqualified minimum UFA)
    > Lawawu-Cabarrot (minimum UFA)
    > Dieng (minimum UFA)
    > Williams (replaced: Dejounte Murray)
    > Griffin (1st rd rookie scale draft rights)
    > Martin (2nd rd draft rights)
    > Brown (two-way contract)
    > Replace Gallinari in front court

Knox & TLC probably squeezed by Hawks drafting two SFs; but one could return if Mays is squeezed. There are two front court players to replace in Gallinari & Dieng; but Johnson may steal some playing time. Right now I feel like Wright & Cooper should return.

The Hawks still have an open roster spot for a 1, 2, 3, 4, & 5. But, I would not expect for the front office to lock in players until some veterans have their agents start calling about a piece of our MLE or signing a veteran minimum.
