The Atlanta Hawks fell to the Boston Celtics, 119-106, in Game 2 of this best-of-seven first round series. The Celtics paced the Hawks to a victory in this one, taking control from the end for the first quarter on.
Atlanta started this game hot and even jumped to a 10-point lead halfway through the first quarter, but from then on, and much like in Game 1, it was all Celtics from there. The Celtics shot 55% compared to Atlanta’s 42%.
Jason Tatum lead the way for the C’s finishing with 29 points on 12-22 shooting overall, and 5-9 from three-point land. Celtic’s guard, Derrick White, turned in his second straight 20-point performance, finishing with 26 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 3 blocks.
Atlanta’s start backcourt of, Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, combined to shot 20-46 from the field. Young finished with 24 points on 22 shots and Murray had a team-high, 29 points, and went 7-13 from three.
Atlanta now trails Boston by two games and faces a must-win situation at home on Friday night from State Farm Arena. Tip-off for Game 3 is 7:00 p.m. eastern from Atlanta.
