36-year old guard, Wes Matthews, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Atlanta Hawks, first reported by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Matthews leaves the Milwaukee Bucks after two seasons. He averaged a career-low in minutes last year at 15.8 per game, and a career-low in points at 3.4 per game. The former-Marquette product is a career 37.6% shooter from beyond the arc.
Matthews will provide some veteran leadership for a young-Hawks squad. He is also a nice candidate or safety net for any injuries that may take place and could be counted on for some spot starts, adding depth to the Hawks’ bench.
