The Atlanta Hawks lost their first game of the preseason, falling to the Indiana Pacers, 116-112, up at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, and Clint Capela (who has not played at all this preseason), all did not play in this ballgame.
Saddiq Bey led the way for the Hawks, with 21 points off the bench on 7-10 shooting overall, while hitting 2 three-pointer’s, as well. Hawks first-round pick, Kobe Bufkin, had a rough shooting night going only 3-11 from the field for eight points. He was able to grab six boards and dole out 3 assists.
De’Andre Hunter did see his first action of the preseason. He finished with a decent showing of 16 points and got to the line nine times.
Atlanta will look to close out the preseason Friday night in Philadelphia as they take on the 76ers. Atlanta will then have five days rest before their regular season opener against the division rival, Charlotte Hornets, on October 25th.
