The Atlanta Hawks jumped all over the Sacramento Kings at home, and even held a 31-8 lead in the first quarter. Even with that fast start, the Hawks could not use that to topple the Kings, who used a strong second-half, outscoring the Hawks 64-39, to eventually end up victorious with a 117-110 win.
The Kings’ duo of, Domantis Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox, was too much for Atlanta to handle. Sabonis finished with a near triple-double of 25 points, 7 assists and 10 rebounds, while shooting 12-17 from the floor overall. Fox had a game-high, 31 points, on 10-20 shooting overall, but hit eight three’s (8-16 3PT), while chipping in 8 assists and 4 steals.
All five Hawks’ starters scored in double-digits, but the team as a whole went ice-cold in the second-half, allowing the Kings to climb back in and steal this one from Atlanta.
Trae Young finished with a team-high 24 points and 9 assists, but struggled shooting the ball, going 7-18 from the field, and 3-10 from three. In his second game back, Jalen Johnson posted a double-double of 16 points and 15 rebounds, along with 4 assists and a block.
Atlanta falls to 12-19 on the season overall, and a very underwhelming, 4-9 at home this season. Their next chance to get off this losing streak is a date with the Washington Wizards on Saturday in D.C.
