First reported by Yahoo’s Jake Fischer, the Atlanta Hawks may look to be sellers at this year’s trade deadline. Virtually, the entire roster is available EXCEPT for the likes of Trae Young & Jalen Johnson.
Yes, that means Dejounte Murray is available, even though he just signed an extension last summer to stay in Atlanta. Also Bogdan Bogdanovic, who is in the midst of a 6th Man of the Year campaign, is likely to be available at the right price. Veterans like Clint Capela & De’Andre Hunter could potentially be on the move. Even the young talent core is not safe, which includes: Onyeka Okongwu, Kobe Bufkin and A.J. Griffin.
Head Coach, Quin Snyder, was asked by the Atlanta Journal Constitution’s, Lauren Williams, about the trade rumors, following a 150-116 blow-out loss against the Indiana Pacers.
“I really like our team and whatever…there is is always chatter and rumors and things like that. Like I said, I am not going to comment on those things,” said Snyder.
With the trade deadline almost exactly a month away, the Hawks could look vastly different in the next couple of weeks. At 14-20, the front office and general manager, Landry Fields, need to see what direction they want to steer the franchise. This is not where anyone thought this team would be, especially, after the hire of Snyder last season. Only time will tell, but keep a look out for trade buzz in the next coming weeks.
