On Tuesday, USA Basketball announced the 41 player finalist-pool for the Paris Olympics this upcoming summer. Among those, was Hawks guard, Trae Young. The final 12-man roster will be announced after the NBA season.
Young is having one of his best seasons ever, statistically speaking, and is currently in the mix to be an All-Star Starter. He is currently averaging 26.9 points per game and 10.8 assists per game. Since the previous Olympic-cycle, Young has been quite vocal about wanting to represent Team USA and be apart of bringing another Gold Medal for USA Men’s Hoops.
We at HawksFanTV think Young is absolutely deserving of a roster spot, and could have a real positive impact with the team in regards to his play-making ability. Only time will tell, but if Young keeps playing like he has, it will be tough to argue against him.
The opening ceremonies for the Paris Olympics will be held on Friday, July 26th.
