Trae Young was announced to the NBA’s All-Star game Tuesday, as an injury replacement. He and Scottie Barnes of the Toronto Raptors, will replace Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid and New York’s Julius Randle, who both will miss the game due to various ailments.
Young, who was a popular vote for All-Star snub, will get to participate on February 18th’s festivities. It should be noted that Young actually finished second in fan voting, which most likely played a role in NBA commissioner Adam Silver’s decision.
Young is currently eighth in the NBA in scoring at 27.3 points per game and second in assists at 10.9 per game, which is a career-best.
