Atlanta Hawks forward, Jalen Johnson, signed a multiyear extension with the Atlanta Hawks on Monday, the eve of the NBA’s regular season. The fourth-year youngster, and former 20th overall pick, signed for 5/years, $150 million, with no options (team or player), according to multiple sources.
Johnson had some what of a breakout season last year, that was unfortunately hampered by injuries at some points. In the early half of the year, Johnson was positioning himself for the NBA’s Most Improved Player award.
In 56 games last season, Johnson averaged career-high’s in points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, minutes, 3PT %, and FT %. Per the AJC, Johnson was only one of four players in the NBA last season that averaged 16 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and one steal. He is in great company, as the only other’s to achieve that same stat-line, were two-time MVP, Nikola Jokic, one-time MVP, Joel Embiid, and All-Star Bam Adebayo.
