The Atlanta Hawks dropped their fourth straight game, after a 2-0 start to the season. Atlanta lost 123-155 at home to the visiting Sacramento Kings.
All five of the Kings’ starters scored double-digits, led by De-Aaron Fox, who finished with an efficient 31 points on 11-16 shooting from the field. DeMar DeRozan, who signed with Sacramento in the offseason, displayed his vintage mid-range game all night, on his way to 27 points.
The Hawks trailed by as many as 18, but clawed all the way back to tie the game at 109 apiece in the fourth quarter. Garrison Mathews was a big reason for that going 7-13 from beyond the arc, and finishing with 23 points.
Trae Young finished with his fifth double-double of the season, ending the night with 25 points and 12 assists. Young struggled from the field shooting 38% from the field, and going 3-9 from three.
Zacchaire Risacher drew the start for Atlanta with De’Andre Hunter and Bogdan Bogdanovic both out. The rookie, well, looked like a rookie. Risacher went 1-9 from the field for three points, hitting one three-pointer all night. He failed to make much of an impact on the game, finishing with a game-worst -25 +/- rating.
Atlanta will look to get off the snide against the New Orleans Pelicans Sunday night in New Orleans.
