LOU WILL AND SOLOMON HILL RUN IT BACK IN ATLANTA
It seems as if the final domino may have fallen to cap off a sneaky great off-season for the Atlanta Hawks.
Atlanta resigned guard, Lou Williams, to a one-year, $5 million deal, and also brought back forward, Solomon Hill, although the terms of his deal have not been disclosed. To make an educated guess, Hill is most likely signing a veteran’s minimum type deal.
Looking at both deals, it will be interesting to see where either player fits in, regarding minutes and the rotation. Hill is more so a locker room presence, so do not be surprised if he is at the end of the bench for much of the year. Williams will carve out a role on the offensive side of the ball. The best guess for his role would be to bring him off the bench for microwave scoring and instant offense.
Nothing major for either signing, but the Hawks add another two players to an already impressively deep roster. Looking around at the league landscape, it is not a stretch to say the Hawks may have the deepest team in basketball. The only challenge to that title might be the new-look“ geriatric” Los Angeles Lakers.
Depth played a key role in the Hawks playoff run last year, and it seems the franchise is sticking to that model going into the 2022 season.
