For the first time in his career, Trae Young for the Atlanta Hawks finished as the league leader for assists. Young also topped the league in total assists as well. Young averaged a double-double of 24.2 points and 11.6 assists, appearing in 76 games this season. He finished with 51 total double-double’s.
It is the third time in his career that he has led the league in total assists. His season-high was 22 against the Cleveland Cavaliers in November.
Young averaged a full 1.4 assists more than is next closest competition, which was Denver’s, Nikola Jokic, at 10.2. Young also was a clear by a 164 assists (880 total) in comparison to Nikola Jokic’s 716 season assist total.
